Here’s a story that will have probably passed under your radar, from a world that doesn’t get a great deal of coverage in the media, despite being one of the biggest industries across the globe, worth an estimated $450 billion in 2024.
In December, the video game Path of Exile 2 was launched for the PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox. It’s an action role-playing game, which for those of you not familiar with the genre, is a game set in a fantasy world, comprising characters who are druids and hunters, warriors and magicians. You view the game from a high vantage point, looking down on a dark and often gruesome world, as you lead your character through a series of dungeons, fighting enemies, collecting loot, and then “powering up” to unlock new abilities and spells.
