Starmer may create a Jurassic Park and revive the SNP dinosaur

Already, there are signs that Labour has begun to breathe new life into the otherwise moribund Scottish National Party.

The Starmer government, even so early in its term, is showing every symptom of being an administration doomed to heavy punishment by the law of unintended consequences. Its purblind determination to rush through doctrinaire policies on issues such as energy, to adhere to unrealistic deadlines and to ignore warnings of the possible adverse consequences of tax hikes, all point to a government riding for a fall.
