Prince Harry’s surprise visit to meet the war wounded in Ukraine on Thursday was in stark contrast to his earlier appearance in public this week, in court for the latest showdown over his security arrangements.

Before his departure from Britain for a new life in the US five years ago, Harry was most in his element among veterans, and helping the injured is still seen as his best work.
