Celebrating Assad's fall is a triumph of optimism over reality

Al-Jolani's attempt at rehabilitation is comical. And, if he fails to bring Syria under his control, anarchy on the model of Iraq post-Saddam will be the outcome.

Aw, Gawd, it’s an Arab Spring – again. The fall of Bashar al-Assad has provoked an hysterical outburst of celebration, reminiscent of the first “Arab Spring” in 2011, greeted with delirium in western media.
