Can Elon Musk re-launch his career?
SpaceX’s Starship has become a metaphor for Musk’s own career trajectory.
In the work of rocketry, they call it a RUD or a “rapid unscheduled disassembly”, being the moment when things go spectacularly wrong.
Elon Musk’s SpaceX has earned a reputation as being masters of the art. They build rockets that are expected to fail most of the time. But, by building enough of them and testing them with real-world physics, they progress faster than any of their competitors. And, up to this year, the plan seemed to be working.
Then came "Block 2", or the second major iteration of SpaceX’s Starship, and since its first launch in January, it has become a metaphor for the rapid unscheduled disassembly of Elon Musk’s own career.
