Another day, another scandal at the BBC involving a predatory male “star” whose abusive behaviour went unchecked by his supine bosses.

Russell Brand, who is still under investigation by the police over claims, which he denies, of rape, assault and emotional abuse, was “out of control” when he worked at the corporation, an internal report has found.

Allegations made against the presenter include him having sex in a disabled lavatory, groping a woman in a corridor and using a BBC-chauffeured car to drive a 16-year-old girl from school to his house.
